Stevenage HC 7-a-side Grass Tournament - Sunday 17th March

Written by sue owen on 31 January 2013.

Ladies Grass Tournament at Stevenage – 17th March

As some of you may know Stevenage Hockey Club every year run a well-attended good old fashioned Ladies 7 a-side Grass Tournament around the end of every season, this year is no different! We will be holding this event on Sunday 17th March.

The tournament is a great way to end the season, for those of you who have not entered in the past or in a the last few years, a quick rundown;
The Ladies Tournament has been running for over 10 years with Stevenage HC playing host to teams from around the region. The tournament is aimed at teams & players that would normally play at 5 Counties level. Last year we had a great turn out with over 13 teams taking part.

The games are played on reduced size grass pitches at our Ditchmore Lane Ground (which is where our clubhouse is in Stevenage Old Town) with teams competing throughout the day for a place in the afternoon finals.

Matches will be around 20 minutes one-way, with the first matches at 10.30am, finals played around 3:30pm and then a short presentation & prize giving where the voted for Fair Play award and runners-up and 2012 Winners are announced and presented with their Trophy. Timings & schedule are dependent on number of entries.

Hot and cold refreshments are available throughout the day; shower & changing facilities are available in the clubhouse and our bar will be open during the tournament.

You are of course welcome to bring any guests/family along to support and enjoy the day!
Entry to the tournament is on a first come, first served basis and the cost per team is £35 you may (as some clubs do) enter more than one team if you wish.

Level of play – the tournament is aimed at all those that play in 5 counties – all divs - everyone is welcome – we all know what a great leveller grass is!

I hope you will be able to join us for what is always great day of friendly yet competitive hockey (whatever the weather!). Entries to be returned by Monday 4th March – but the earlier the better please!

Checking Home Start Times

Written by sue owen on 18 November 2012.

Home Teams:  Please make sure that the start time and venue recorded on this Web site are correct.  Ideally this should be done two weeks before the fixture so that any errors can be notified to the opposition in good time.

Many thanks for your help

Team Withdrawals

Written by sue owen on 22 October 2012.

Unfortunately Tring 4, from Division 5, and Milton Keynes 4, from Division 6, have made the decision to withdraw from the League as they are struggling to fulfil fixtures.  This means that any results against these two teams will be null and void.  Fixture secretaries have been advised so hopefully they will be able to arrange a friendlies on the spare dates.
